What started as a slow trickle when American Tactical Imports (ATI) and PTR moved from the northeast to South Carolina, has now become an all out surge with Magpul Industries leaving Colorado, Beretta leaving Maryland for Tennessee, and Remington acquiring a 500,000 square ft. facility in Alabama.

remington-ammo-APAs Breitbart News previously reported, Governor Andrew Cuomo’s (D) SAFE Act drove ATI from New York in October while Governor Dannel Malloy’s (D) draconian gun control drove PTR from Connecticut in June.

In early 2013 Magpul made it clear they were leaving Colorado if the state’s Democrat legislators passed a ban on “high capacity” magazines. The legislators passed the ban anyway, and on January 2, 2014 Breitbart News reported that Magpul was moving manufacturing to Wyoming and its corporate headquarters to Texas.

  1. Peter Stanford says:

I always had a problem seeing how politicians were going to “create” jobs. After all, it’s the small business person that creates
the most jobs in this country. However I now see how the politicians can make the most jobs disappear from certain areas in
this country only to have them re-appear in another geographical area in this country.
At least one governor I know of should begin packing his bags. Of course I speak of governor Malloy from Connecticut. His “knee-jerk” reaction to a horrendous crime committed by a human ended up with him blaming firearms because the human was deceased and could not be held accountable. With one swipe of his pen he jumped to the head of the list of northeast
politicians who blatantly hint to firearms related employers to move south where they are openly welcomed. So jobs go south, and employees either move south with them or are left behind jobless. This is exactly why I do not believe the “increase in jobs reports” we are getting from washington. Let’s face reality, the “increases” are merely increases in the south
due to decreases in the north. The firearms related companies are playing the washington form of monopoly, buying in the south and selling in the north leaving behind unemployment. This, voters, is how whom we in the north voted for, create jobs for those in the south! Good job, after all, you did do what you promised. You created jobs.
